King Charles makes surprise pub visit in Yorkshire — and stays for two hours
Locals 'gobsmacked' as His Majesty pulls his own pint and chats with regulars long past schedule.
Drinkers at The Black Bull in the village of Reeth got the shock of their lives on Saturday afternoon when King Charles III walked in unannounced, ordered a half of bitter, and stayed for the best part of two hours.
The visit, which was not on any official itinerary, came at the end of a private weekend in the Yorkshire Dales. Royal aides confirmed it had been arranged 'at His Majesty's specific request' after he heard the historic pub was under threat of closure.

Locals described the atmosphere as 'completely surreal' — with one regular admitting he initially mistook the monarch for 'a posh hiker who'd taken a wrong turn'.
The King reportedly pulled his own pint, signed the cellar door, and promised to write personally to the brewery on the pub's behalf.
Within 24 hours, online donations to save The Black Bull had passed £180,000.
